I am writing to you to share some news about the future of FMA, a company I founded and have led for 21 years. As you may know, MBAF is the parent company of FMA, providing all operational infrastructure for our firm. As of January 16th, MBAF will be combining operations with the firm of BDO USA, and FMA is part of that combination. From January 16th, we will be known as BDO FMA.
I am delighted to lead the FMA team into partnership with BDO USA, an institution that has demonstrated its commitment and earned its reputation for providing thoughtful and comprehensive services to the nonprofit and philanthropic sector.
In more than two decades of service, FMA has grown and been sustained by your support and partnership. This move will enable us to leverage the ideas and practices my team and I have championed throughout FMA’s history to serve a much larger audience with the full weight and resources of this esteemed institution behind us. With this new relationship, we augment FMA’s empathetic approach to meeting clients where they are with the significantly broader range of accounting, advisory and consultative services for which BDO USA is known.
Over the next few months, you’ll be hearing more from us about what this new phase will mean for fiscal management capacity-building in the nonprofit sector. FMA has always been committed to building a community of individuals with the confidence and skills to lead organizations that change the world. With BDO’s confidence in BDO FMA, that community just got a lot bigger. Together, we’re taking nonprofit fiscal management to the next level, and we look forward to having you with us.
